Phenylacetic Acid

Phenylacetic acid is the oxidation product of phenylethylamine when acted on by the enzyme monoamine oxidase found in humans. It may further be conjugated with glutamine producing phenylacetylglutamine or conjugated with glycine producing phenylacetylglycine.
