Ellagic Acid
Ellagic Acid is an antioxidant found in pomegranate juice.
Ellagic acid is a potent inhibitor of glutathione S-transferase enzymes GSTA1-1, GSTA2-2, GSTM1-1, GSTM2-2, and GSTP1-1.[1]
Ellagic acid is a potent inhibitor of alcohol dehydrogenase.[2]
Ellagic acid is also a potent inhibitor of xanthine oxidase with an IC50 of 3.1 µM.
